This morning I got the very sad news from my parents about Dust’s passing. She was just a 3 years old puppy. The doctor presumes it was likely a virus she caught from another dog. When we found Dust last year, she’d been abandoned with no place to go. We took her in, thinking it would be temporary until we found her a new home. But we fell in love with her almost instantly. She became our first dog. She brought nothing but joy and laughter to the family. Life is sometimes unfair, but I like to think that God needs His strongest warriors by His side. I’m not writing this because I want sympathy. I’m writing this to remind you to notice the things around you that you might be taking for granted. Whether relationships, health, wealth, belongings... Because one day, they could be taken away in the blink of an eye with no notice. Don’t wait until they’re memories to realize how much they meant to you. As for you Dust, thank you for being company to my parents when their kids were away trying to hustle for a better life.
