Editorial: Less Than 1,000 Days to Ruin Massachusetts By Jon Fetherston @MassGovernor has now been in office for 956 days. In less than three years, she has managed to accomplish what many thought impossible: she has taken a once proud Commonwealth and driven it into chaos. The numbers don’t lie. Massachusetts is bleeding taxpayers, families, and businesses. Our housing crisis has deepened, not eased. Healey’s “Healey Hotels” fiasco has spent billions on emergency migrant shelters while veterans and working families wait for help. Public safety has deteriorated, crime is up, shoplifting has become so rampant that toothpaste and socks are locked behind glass, and the State Police are mired in yet another round of corruption scandals. Education, once Massachusetts’ crown jewel, is faltering. Test scores are falling, school districts are crippled by bus driver shortages, and college is more expensive than ever despite “free community college” promises. Energy costs are soaring because of short sighted green experiments, while solar farms and offshore wind projects deliver little but higher bills. And through it all, Healey has been missing in action. Instead of leadership, we get press conferences, virtue signaling, and empty promises. Instead of accountability, we get secrecy and excuses. Instead of fighting for the people of Massachusetts, she has pandered to political allies and special interests. Nine hundred and fifty six days. That’s all it has taken to make Massachusetts less safe, less affordable, and less fair. If this is the record she runs on, then the people of this state should demand better, much better. Because Massachusetts deserves leadership, not collapse.
