Had an interesting call with the founder of a very prominent L2 today. He told me they’ve started to realize that it’s impossible to compete with the distribution and liquidity of Solana and Base. So instead of pushing their own L2 further, they’ll focus on incubating apps for Solana and Base in order to generate revenue, which they can then funnel back into their own token. In other words: they’ll cannibalize their own ecosystem and shut it down for the sake of utility and revenue. Slowly but surely, the space is healing and I am expecting this trend to continue. Infra is dead, long live use cases.
