for years sv wisdom was that nobody cares about privacy. but tons of users are increasingly privacy aware now, & with ai intimacy is deeply possible which makes the stakes higher than ever. you fuck up once, & it absolutely sucks the life out of you esp if you’re operating on deep personal context. ironically today potentially the most rebellious thing an ai startup can do is to treat privacy & security with an almost religious devotion. in a landscape where everyone’s squeezing attention & leaking data (like tea app), the true counterculture might be building systems that remember without betraying.
