Things I'm interested in today: (08.18.2025) (Base edition)
Going to switch it up a little bit today...we're just highlighting projects on Base that have piqued my curiosity. Generally speaking I think Base is going to be a MASSIVE player for the next few years w/ the full institutional support from CB and the social blitz capability of Jesse's team....which means imo there will be great money spots.
I enjoy writing broader market thoughts, but I also want some of these to be much more actionable and that requires specifics - so we're talking very specific projects/small ecos today....here we go!

- @zed_champions - It's a rebirth of ZedRun which many oldhead NFT ppl are familiar with. They relaunched a new gameloop and token model on Base a while back. I have some horses, I have some Zed.
What really makes me interested here though is they are running an awareness campaign with Fantasy this week - I hope to see some really good UGC around best practices/most efficient ways to play bc I just don't have the bandwidth to dive into a complex economy. Keeping eyes open for really great content/guides.
- @flaunchgg - Basically the main platform utilizing Uni v4 hooks atm. A number of ppl have launched ideas/tools/experiments using Flaunch now, and the buyback+rev share+creator earnings model they have built into token launches is really good. Liquidity is a bit low for most of these because there just aren't many people using v4 yet, but I think this is a place to be both aware of and curious about.
I bought some Flaunch coins this weekend. Send them with haste.
- Bankr - One of the most interesting DeFAI projects that emerged over the last year. Mfer community fully supports. Devs are cracked. They keep shipping new stuff weekly. Listed on CB a few weeks back...feels like when Base alts really start to get a bid, $66m will feel pretty cheap.
- Virtuals new launch model - it *just* released, so I'm looking into the details, but it seems they're going with a tiered approach that scales based on demand (and seeds more liquidity at higher tiers)...favorite part about that team is they have so much runway that they can experiment with stuff and just try to figure out what works well...and they keep doing it. GG guys

Things I'm interested in today: (08.15.2025)
(sorry for missing Wednesday - I was buying a house)
- Tokenized Access
This isn't a particularly "novel" concept - NFT gating/etc have been around for ages, but I do think we're starting to see more interesting use cases for gating that aren't just "community" - Backroom launched their product on Base yesterday for friendtech-style keys to give access to alpha channels curated by AI agents.
TimeFun is allowing pay-to-play access for the time of top minds in the space. I'm sure there are more being developed. I'm really interested in value-add tokenization and unique spins on this.
- DeFi
It literally runs the future world. There's really two main areas of focus that I'm interested in here today - 1) aggregators/LP spots (leaning more into the idea of Project X being the next major protocol in this space) and 2) what I'm calling "obscured" or "everyday" DeFi...which is basically the idea/belief that DeFi will be as ubiquitous as smartphones or the internet within the decade.
I'm interested in companies building rails for bringing DeFi (and all of the associated benefits) to *everyone* but without them having to know or care that crypto is involved...that's how we win.
- AI Tooling
I mentioned this last week, but I am getting more and more convinced that we're rapidly approaching the chatGPT moment for a bunch of other AI tools. Coding kinda seems to already be there, but I think video generation is probably up sooner than ppl believe. I can still remember ~3 years ago trying to get stable diffusion to work locally and generate still images for me...which were mostly terrible and the machines couldn't make hands properly.
Now we have things like Grok Imagine, Veo, Gemini, etc in the trad world, and on the crypto side we have spots like Everlyn challenging incumbents to drive down costs and increase generation speed. We've got access to near instant animation and video gen that looks largely believable less than 3 years after the clankers couldn't make still images without mangled hands. This stuff is accelerating and I want to be on top of it.
