This is very well said, and is such an important point about the terrible incentives created by death taxes - and what they do to our civilization. I wish more of our generation had the wisdom to appreciate this perspective.

Death tax is a civilization destroying force that punishes thinking of the gut and encourages being an irresponsible spendthrift in the present; it’s the Third World mindset as applied to tax The West was made great by men who wanted their children to be in a better position than they, and so poured investment into the future and saved for the next generations so that their progeny might be independent and able to do great things Death tax destroys that. It chops down the trees men plant so that their children might sit in the shade, and uses them to fund the infernal machine of the wasteful bureaucracy while pushing those who would think of their descendants to instead waste resources upon themselves Notably, a decade of 60-90% death taxes took Britain from controlling a quarter of the world to being a has-been backwater quickly filling up with invaders. With the taxes, none of the leadership class remained to do great things, and the whole project the men of Merry Old England had spent centuries building was destroyed to fund a few months of NHS spending
