ILLEGAL ALIEN CAUSES THREE DEATHS IN TRUCK CRASH IN CALIFORNIA
“If you’re here illegally, you shouldn’t get a license. But you certainly shouldn’t get a commercial license where you’re driving one of these massive vehicles. Federal law requires legal status...California has blood on its hands.” - @JohnEDeaton1

I am a free market capitalist but we need to prevent hedge funds from outbidding working people from owning a home. We already give hedge fund managers generous tax treatment - i.e., the carried interest rule - which allows wealthy fund managers to pay lower tax rates than teachers, cops, electricians, firefighters, etc. - we can’t let them simply outbid those same workers from owing a home.

Blackstone didn't buy 274,000 homes to be landlords.
They spent $1 trillion turning homeownership into subscription housing.
They are creating a generation that will own nothing and rent everything.
While families dream of white picket fences, Wall Street dreams of permanent tenants 🧵

What drives me nuts is how career politicians like @maura_healey & @EdMarkey push nonsensical fairytale, sprinkled with Unicorn 🦄 dust, net-zero carbon emissions plans (eg Green New Deal), as an alternative to fossil fuels. The problem is that these plans actually cause us to rely more on fossil fuels because they’re so damn unrealistic. And who gets punished - working people - that’s who. MA has the 2nd highest energy prices in America and is now the 2nd most expensive state to live in. We need a multifaceted energy transition approach that implements small nuclear modular reactors, natural gas, solar, wind (onshore - not offshore), hydro, and geothermal, utilizing technology like carbon capture, and increasing battery storage. It really isn’t that damn difficult. When these politicians push wind and solar only - it can’t meet demand. And when renewables fall short, guess what we use to meet that demand? Fossil fuels, including, sometimes, coal. Which means, these people are pushing an agenda to score progressive political points that cause skyrocketing prices but ultimately keep us tied to the very thing - fossil fuels - that they want to replace. 🤦♂️
It is downright stupid and yes, criminal.

This is 💯 percent accurate. MA needs new leadership - both at the state and federal levels. Let’s hope 2026 brings real change.

Editorial: Less Than 1,000 Days to Ruin Massachusetts
By Jon Fetherston
@MassGovernor has now been in office for 956 days. In less than three years, she has managed to accomplish what many thought impossible: she has taken a once proud Commonwealth and driven it into chaos.
The numbers don’t lie. Massachusetts is bleeding taxpayers, families, and businesses. Our housing crisis has deepened, not eased. Healey’s “Healey Hotels” fiasco has spent billions on emergency migrant shelters while veterans and working families wait for help. Public safety has deteriorated, crime is up, shoplifting has become so rampant that toothpaste and socks are locked behind glass, and the State Police are mired in yet another round of corruption scandals.
Education, once Massachusetts’ crown jewel, is faltering. Test scores are falling, school districts are crippled by bus driver shortages, and college is more expensive than ever despite “free community college” promises. Energy costs are soaring because of short sighted green experiments, while solar farms and offshore wind projects deliver little but higher bills.
And through it all, Healey has been missing in action. Instead of leadership, we get press conferences, virtue signaling, and empty promises. Instead of accountability, we get secrecy and excuses. Instead of fighting for the people of Massachusetts, she has pandered to political allies and special interests.
Nine hundred and fifty six days. That’s all it has taken to make Massachusetts less safe, less affordable, and less fair. If this is the record she runs on, then the people of this state should demand better, much better. Because Massachusetts deserves leadership, not collapse.

Bill is 💯 accurate. There’s little doubt @ZohranKMamdani will be the next Mayor of NYC, unless @andrewcuomo or @ericadamsfornyc drop out. Even then, it’ll be difficult to defeat Zohran but it is the only path to do so. So the real question is: Who loves NYC more, @andrewcuomo or @ericadamsfornyc?

Bill Ackman17.8. klo 20.01
The NYC mayoral election is a slow-moving, soon-to-be-accelerating train wreck. With @andrewcuomo and @ericadamsfornyc both still in the race and apparently planning to stay in the race until the end, @ZohranKMamdani is a near certain winner.
Mayor Adams or Cuomo can win the election, but not if it is a three- or four-way race.
The only path to victory is for one of them to step aside and it needs to happen soon. If Adams and Cuomo truly care about our great city, they should sit down and work it out, and they need to do it now.
Socialism will be the death knell for NYC. That will be both Andrew’s and Eric’s legacy if they put their self interest and egos above what is best for the city.
NYC will look very kindly on the candidate that steps aside and helps the other win to save the city. That will be a very important part of their legacy. In the alternative, they will both be responsible for a socialist takeover of the city, the lives lost from the increase in crime, the economic destruction and unemployment, and the inspiration a Mamdani win will inspire for Socialist candidates around the country.
This is a really important election for the future of the city and the country. On the path Eric, Andrew and we are on, we are handing NYC to Mamdani.
Wake up New York City!

Strong words regarding ETH by @CampbellJAustin. This is a very important issue or debate to address.
The stablecoin market cap is projected to 5X during the next few years. Even U.S. Treasury Secretary @SecScottBessent has projected massive stablecoin growth.
Larry Fink, who has $11T under management, talks non-stop about the tokenization of RWA, as does @APompliano @bgarlinghouse @JoelKatz @IOHK_Charles and many other leading voices in Crypto, to name a few.
I would love to hear @fundstrat @ethereumJoseph @AK_EtherMachine @CathieDWood or @VitalikButerin comment.
There are A LOT of people (eg @ewarren) rooting for Crypto to fail, so no matter where you sit along the crypto spectrum, as we move forward, these are the adult, healthy conversations necessary.

The Bank Policy Institute, with Jamie Dimon as its Chairman, wrote @ewarren’s anti-crypto Bill, which banned the self-custody of Bitcoin.
As a matter of principle, ANYTHING the BPI is pushing should likely be opposed.
The Banks are SCARED of competition. I hope @coinbase @Ripple @krakenfx @UpholdInc etc all get banking licenses. Free market capitalism - with a level playing field - facilitates
competition - which in turn - fosters innovation which drives down costs for consumers.
Maybe Chokepoint 2.0 and the debanking of the First Family (per @EricTrump & @DonaldJTrumpJr) will help cause the @SecScottBessent @howardlutnick and the incoming Chairman of the @federalreserve (whoever that be) and President Trump @realDonaldTrump realize the entire American banking industry needs serious reform.

paulgrewal.eth14.8. klo 06.00
This was no loophole and you know it. 376 Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate rejected your unrestrained effort to avoid competition. So did one President. It's time to move on.
