I see many takes on the total market cap of crypto exceeding equities in the future. I think this is the right sentiment, framed in the wrong way. Crypto native assets may well exceed traditional equities in the coming decades, however, this is just part of the picture. Crypto isn't simply another asset class, it will eventually represent EVERY asset class. All equities will be brought on chain and will be traded 24/7 with instant settlement. Commodities, fixed income, even real estate, will all be onchain. This is already happening, but we're now set to see this rise exponentially over the coming years. Price action is simply short term noise to this once in a generation paradigm shift. Not only will traditional assets be brought on chain, I predict we will soon see the rise of onchain IPOs where equities will be born onchain. So the next time you see a crypto market cap comparison, remember that this is only the beginning. This opportunity goes beyond the price of our magic internet money going up in the short term. Crypto represents a new financial system and facilitation of global trade never seen before in human history. Every asset will be a crypto asset. Believe in something.
