I have just issued a new directive to Mayor Bowser requiring MPD to provide the services found necessary by my designee, @DEAHQ Administrator Terry Cole, to comply fully and completely with federal immigration law and authorities, regardless of any policies MPD might otherwise have. Unfortunately, the DC Attorney General continues to oppose our efforts to improve public safety in Washington, DC. It is important to note that this same DC Attorney General is responsible for failing to enforce consequences for dangerous juvenile offenders. We remain committed to working closely with Mayor Bowser, who is dedicated to ensuring the safety of residents, workers, and visitors in Washington, DC.

Another victory for President Trump! In a 2-1 ruling, the DC Circuit sided with my @TheJusticeDept attorneys in our effort to dismantle the CFPB and rein in crippling Obama-era regulations. We will continue to pursue the President’s deregulation efforts.

DC’s sanctuary policies no longer apply: we are making our nation’s capital safe again. At President Trump’s direction, our agents are carrying out arrests across DC and shutting down violent crime.

Any sanctuary jurisdiction that continues to put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens can either come to the table or see us in court. Today @TheJusticeDept delivered demand letters to sanctuary cities, counties, and states — a key step in our strategic effort to eradicate sanctuary policies from California to New York.

If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you. I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ. You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement.

Another @TheJusticeDept victory in court for President Trump’s agenda! In a 2-1 ruling, the DC Circuit lifted an injunction ordering President Trump to spend hard-earned taxpayer dollars on wasteful foreign aid projects. We will continue to successfully protect core Presidential authorities from judicial overreach.

I just concluded a productive meeting with DC @MayorBowser at the Department of Justice. We agreed that there is nothing more important than keeping residents and tourists in Washington, D.C. safe from deadly crime. At President Trump’s direction, @TheJusticeDept will work closely with D.C. city government and @DCPoliceDept to make Washington, D.C. safe again.
