spent time this weekend going through @artonblockchain outputs from LIFT (a self portrait) man i just love this whole collection here's an image of a few of my fav 'racer' traits, with matching gloves and boots also sent a few onchain transactions on sunday afternoon using @artblocks_io post params to default a few of my pieces to 'PortraitMode' so the artwork loads to 'pixel man' in both gallery and live view i'm just really proud of all the work that went into building this insanely complex collection first and foremost, proud of @artonblockchain this is the most ambitious project that snowfro has released since chromie squiggle, and easily the most technically complex project he's ever built the project reimagines how onchain art can be created, experienced, viewed, understood as an onchain artwork as a procedurally generated game as 'digitally-instructed' physical objects it also happens to be a brilliant self-portrait, painted with code on the canvas of snowfro's art practice -- the @ethereum blockchain snowfro has a habit of seeing the world before the rest of us he is a cartographer for onchain artmaking, charting the path ahead over time, we'll look back on LIFT as a map, created at a time where onchain generative artmaking found itself in a period of transition, anticipating new creative directions similar to the impact of chromie squiggle, i have a feeling LIFT will help guide the way for the next generation of creative coders and onchain tinkerers i'm also v proud of the squad at @glitchmarfa, particularly our gallery director @magey_mage we're a very small core team of three at glitch, and i like to think we punch way above our weight @magey_mage is a big reason for this she really pushed us to take some creative chances storytelling over the last few months grateful for the time and care she put into working with our creative partners @atleykins and @wysmns, along with the killer design duo marty and akam. the thoughtfulness and care from all of our design crews was incredibly meaningful @maltefr_eth, who rounds out our dream team at glitch, has just such a killer lens on tying together historical and contemporary artmaking, and it really puts such a master class touch on everything we put out into the world. he is a total crypto art weapon, and i'm v excited for folks to read his long-form essay on LIFT, which we'll break down later this week finally, grateful for all the folks and partners involved working and building all aspects of LIFT over the last six months, including @generativegoods, @artblocks_io, @DaCaldera, Mara, @redbeardnft, @Pakmanscoop, @zackrosenblatt_, and so many others involved a special project, with many creative dimensions, built in partnership with some very special people i think it's important to share that while the auction is now complete, many of these folks will continue working on bringing the collection to life in new spaces if you've spent time with LIFT, you've probably realized how much there is to unpack within each object and across the collection as a whole a generative artwork customizable identity markers .DST files onchain art assets generative game boxes procedural 1/1/x gaming experiences on this point make a note to keep an eye on some of the products coming out of @generativegoods over time i think folks will be excited at the different ways to understand and interact with LIFT (a self portrait) in the future finally i've loved seeing folks start unpacking the different dimensions of the artwork over the last few days supporters creating tools for for collectors to collect around supporters pulling .DST files to hand stitch or embroidery put their generative game objects on physical objects supporters downloading their generative pixel man, objects, or supporters in various formats (PNG, GIF, MP4) to customize inside new digital or physical environments supporters playing LIFT (a self portrait) on game boy advances and emulators, lifting rocks, using inventory items, collecting squiggles with chromie squiggle, @ArtOnBlockchain was one of the first artists to understand the unique and singular power of digital object networks watching the early network around LIFT take shape has been meaningful to everyone involved thank you ♥️
